What makes you happy? Is it positive thinking, counting your blessings, taking time to smell the flowers, or avoiding traffic jams? This BBC feature investigates whether there's a magic recipe, and how much value we place on contentment.

Learn why the increased wealth of countries hasn't necessarily translated into greater happiness, and decide for yourself if the government of Bhutan has figured out the balance between good cheer and wealth. Find out if joyful people are healthier, and how levels of fulfillment change throughout our lives.
